Khelif, 25, clearly defeated the Hungarian fighter and came down the ring stairs crying, moved by the controversy generated after his rival’s withdrawal in quarters, The Italian Angela Carini.

Controversy was stirred up at these Games, after she couldn’t compete in the 2023 World Cup because a gender test revealed that she had high levels of testosterone.

“It was a tough fight but I think it was a good fight, I’m very proud of myself and grateful to be here,” said Hamori.

After the match, Hungarian IOC member Balázs Fürjes spoke on this issue.

“Paris boxing competitions will have consequences that must be carefully assessed after the Games,” he said, adding that, “as a member of the IOC,” He is convinced to the last cent percent that the body “will make the right decisions”.

Khelif wins a medal in Paris and faces semi-finals where he already knows the opponent. She will face Thai Janjaem Suwannapheng looking for a spot in the final.
